📖 About This Campground

Charlarose Lake & Campground in Hillsboro Indiana offers full, partial, and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping in a rural setting adjacent a small fishing lake. The park primarily caters to seasonal guests with a number of scheduled activities during the season but under new ownership has significantly improved its offerings to shorter term guests. The park is nicely landscaped and maintained with a small onsite fishing lake, plenty of open grass areas, a covered pavilion, two nice play areas for kids (with some of the best swings we have ever found at a park), a 27 acre forest with trails for hiking, and a nice little RC dirt track (courtesy of the seasonal guests who have gone RC crazy). The owners of the park are personable, friendly and clearly enjoy having guests enjoy their park (as an added benefit the owners are RVers also and it shows in the park features and improvements). Access to Charlarose Lake & Campground is off a small county road from US 136; drivers will pass a sign stating no overweight vehicles but do not fret as long as you go straight to the park there are no worries. Park roads are packed gravel while the sites are either on nicely mowed grass or gravel. All sites are backins but easily handle any size RV. As a bonus nightly rates are incredibly reasonable (as of 2017 $30 per night for full hookups) when compared to other parks in the area. Restrooms with showers are available as is a small stocked store.

Wish we would have stayed longer. We used this park as an overnight stop on our way out to Ohio and were very sorry to only stay one night. It is located in a quiet rural area surrounded by trees and farms. The owners are very nice and the neighbors even more so. The playground equipment was top notch. We had a huge backin site on mowed grass that was level enough to not require blocks for our one night stay. The lake was scenic the RC track was fun and we will need to stay again. paid $30 for the night. Verizon 4G was 2 bars and data was fast. We will stay here again.
